—Description from Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions

Boss is a game mode introduced in Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions.

It makes a total of 11 appearances in the game, 6 levels are featured in Adventure Mode, along with 4 in Ultimate Mode, followed by one level in Hardcore Mode.

Gameplay Edit

The player only has one life, bombs and supers are one each per level, with the exception of the two levels; Topaz and Topaz(Hardcore), the loadout is instead 2 bombs and supers, and 3 bombs and no supers respectively.

The main feature of the level is the eponymous Boss, a large enemy that sticks out due to its large size. The player is given a camera shot of the boss as soon as the level starts and there is a ticker at the top of the screen indicating its current health.

Every boss has a special shield that they can activate as soon as its health is fully depleted. After a few second the bar eventually resets and the shield is lowered, but during the time that the boss has the shield activated it is completely invulnerable.

Every boss will need to have its health depleted about 5 times before the player destroys it, thereby winning the level. Keep in mind that in order to progress through the level, the player needs to destroy the boss, the score received at the end of the level only matters if the boss has been destroyed.

Every boss has a move pattern unique to each level, and they generally have another unique feature in some way or another. They all scale in difficulty and receive more mobility the farther in the game the player progresses.
