The battenberg[1] is an enemy introduced in Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions. They resemble a rounded diamond; comprising two smaller purple diamonds and two yellow circles.
Behaviour[]
When this enemy enters the stage, it will travel in a straight line in a random direction, and will reflect off any solid surface it comes into contact with.
When the player shoots this enemy, it will separate into its purple and yellow constituents: the former are known as tracking darts[1], and will pursue the player at high speed and with a wide turning circle; while the latter are known as blockers[1], and will hover slowly near where the enemy separated.
Trivia[]
The shape of this enemy resembles part of a square packing lattice[2].
